"This week in First grade, we went on a nature walk. Since our current theme is called, "Let's Look Around", we did just that! We put on our hiking boots and hunting goggles and we explored the variety of leaves that surrounds our school. We found that some leaves are monocots or dicots and compared our findings with one another. After our discussion, we took our leaves and used each one to make beautiful leaf stampings. When you walk through the hallways, you will be able to see each unique and authentic leaf stamping done by none other than the First grade! We love Autumn!"

"This week in First grade we explored a step further in physical science. We wanted to test the strength of a plain old chicken egg and see how many of our Harcourt math books it would take before the egg would crack. After 3 trials, our investigation led us to believe that it would take 20 of our math books to cause the egg to crack. Which was a total of 16 pounds! What an EGG-ceptionally, EGG-cellent EGG-periment!"
